Social Media: Can’t Do That! I Don’t Have Time!

No Time Like the Present
Time.
Who’s got any extra? Could you send some over?
I haven’t had any since 1990-something.
Most folks I know are feeling the same way.
Yet, somehow, we all manage to get things done in the time we have allotted. We even pick up a few new things as move forward in our careers.
Time.
“I can’t do that! I don’t have time for it!”
Truth is, I have time for things I find important, useful, and better not to avoid.
What that response means is “I don’t want to — learn something new.”
The minute I see value or realize that people are getting ahead of me.
I have the time I need to learn what I thought I didn’t need to know.
Start by learning the vocabulary. . . . you have time for a few words.

Hi Liz
We always seem to be able to make time – even in the busiest schedules – when we see something we know will help us grow. Reading, writing, studying, trying-out and implementing and more of those things.
Our priorities shift when we have those ‘looks like growth opportunity’ encounters

Yes, time is of the essence, you only get so much of it. So the big question is, what are you doing with it? Some have found ways to save it, others to stretch the amount they have available. So many great tools available, but this requires yet more time investment to investigate! The last time I had nothing to do was when I worked at Universal Studios – 30 years ago!
Hi Karin!
Yeah, the time issue comes in when we don’t see the value of investing it.
Hiya Randy!
Finding the right tools and learning how to use them takes time. Don’t we know that!
Hi Liz – You are amazingly good at persuading people to do things. I must confess that since getting banned from stumbleupon, for being too outspoken, I’ve sort of avoided social networking. I haven’t got the hang of digg, or twitter and I know there’s many new ones out there, but i just haven’t been able to push myself to try something new.
But you’ve twisted my arm and I should put in the effort. Which one is best to try next?
Hi Cath,
Why not follow me and Maki and msaleem on Twitter and see what and who we talk to? Lots of the folks who hang out at Successful-Blog are there. You’d probably feel right at home.
