Something in Every Job, Every Person
If you consider the people who truly light up a room, to a person they are always people who are quick to see value in others.
If you smile at such a person, she’ll smile back in a way that shares the smile and gives you all of the credit. You’ll hear a “Look at you!” or a “Wow! How you made my smile brighter!”
It’s about more than giving thanks.
Deep gratitude is understanding the contribution of another. It’s about valuing another person’s time and what they give. People who have true gratitude understand that the most generous givers often do so in ways that are hard to see.
And the most generous givers are grateful that they have something to give and someone to give to.
Look closely, people who are grateful for the value in others often have a large following.
Gratitude, true and deep, is irresistible, as it should be.
All good things given freely are sticky.

In a World Where We Are Blind
We wander in a world of humanity. We can’t see intent or motive. We only see the words and acts that a person might care to reveal. Are they true? Are they an act?
That reality makes authenticity so vibrantly attractive . . . in the 3-D world and even more in this virtual one.
When we consistently speak with authenticity, people hear the person behind the screen. People come to know who we are and what we stand for. Knowing they can trust us to be consistently honest is a value that they can hold onto when they are “flying blind” over the highways of the Internet.
No wonder authenticity is so attractive . . . sticky.

Show Up Whole and Human
The idea of community — people sharing stories and trading strategies — is at the core of any truly sticky brand. Community is about room and reciprocity. Everyone is there to give and so, everyone also receives.
For that reciprocity to catch and grow, someone has to go first. Someone has to “the one who . . . ”
- is the person and personality behind the screen, so that folks can meet . . . the someone “real.”
- provides the reality of a human who is present and listening, so that folks feel valued and cared about.
- responds to the needs of visitors so that they know they are a vital part of the community.
- gives without expectation, so that folks feel they might offer their wisdom as well.
- helps without selling, so that folks know they can ask without feeling they’ll be trapped.
- Invests heart, mind, and soul into the endeavor, so that others will feel safe to do the same.
As you can see, showing up is sticky. When an authentic someone listens, values, and responds, the result for most of us humans is irresistible. We are attracted to people who recognize us as people worth knowing.
