What IS It about MyBlogLog?
View CommentsYahoo bought MyBlogLog. It was announced yesterday. Why’d they do that?
How did this little networking, click tracking program go from a sleepy site into a most-useful and fast-growing application? What does it have that the others do not? Word Sell details the values of MyBlogLog well.
1. Easy to set up your account and profile.
2. Blogs are organized into communities around subject matter, making it easy to find blogs and communities of interest.
3. The process of establishing “contacts” and communicating with other bloggers is fast, easy, and secure.
4. Members can communicate with individual bloggers or entire blog communities; messages can be public or private.
5. The quality of member blogs is excellent, at least for business blogs, an area I’ve explored in some detail. That being the case, MyBlogLog promotes not merely traffic, but true readership.
6. The “Recent Readers” widget (as you see on this blog’s sidebar) nicely personalizes your blog and alerts you to bloggers you’d probably enjoy reading.
I find that pictures tell the story, just as quickly though.
I can see the people. I can see their blogs. I can see the relationships. I feel part of something where real people are involved.
