Business Blogging, Uniquely Liz

June 1 Blogtipping Day

To explain Blogtipping Day, I need to explain a few other things . . . BUT June 1 is Blogtipping Day, so I’ll do my blogtipping first and explain the traditions of link love, Blogtipping, and the Link Leak Virus via that fabulous literary device — flashbacks — over the next few days. In the meantime, if you’re as curious about new things as I am, I have an article on how blog tipping made cowtipping a thing of the past.

Blogtipping

Blogtipping is a 3 +1 deal — 3 kudos and 1 tip for three bloggers. All are sent in the spirit of link love and friendship. Here are my three.

Doc Searls
1. Thanks for your part in the Cluetrain Manifesto and all of the other brilliant, authentic contributions you make. People notice.
2. Thanks for noticing Tom at Red Bank TV and his modern-day town crier approach to facing local Internet issues.
3. For pushing everyone to pay attention to what’s going on with the Internet.
Tip: This tipping comes without strings, not that you’d be pulled. That’s why it’s on my “brainy” blog — no agendas, no quests, not much here but ideas. (I did think you’d find blogtipping fun — end of story.)

David Sifry
1. You’ve always been the gentleman CEO that you are.
2. I learn from watching you. I do that whenever I can.
3. You seem not to have lost sense of what makes things fun, in the middle of doing so many intelligent grown-up things.
Tip: Don’t leave us behind.

Guy Kawasaki
1. It’s no great effort to click through to see who made a link, but it’s a nice thing to leave a personal comment. Thank you.
2. I enjoy your ability to see the big picture.
3. Even more, I find it fun to watch how you pack the snowball before throw it back.
Tip: I’d love to see you say something incredibly controversial. Well, that’s just me. :)

Next Blogtipping day is July 1. Tomorrow I’ll tell you more of what Blogtipping is all about and why such things are important to blogging.
