Business Thinking, Strategic Thinking, Uniquely Liz

From Team Blogging to Knowledge Enterprise?

Why do I believe an organization can use team blogging to transform itself into a knowledge enterprise? I believe that because

  • I know how kids learn what the color blue is.
  • I know how kids learn how to read.
  • I know why I thought every family ate dinner at 5pm, and then why I was able to change that thinking when I got information that proved it to be untrue.

We construct meaning from context and our experience. A child points to objects and questions the color, and an adult answers back. Eventually the child has made meaning and sense of the color blue. The child has compressed and compiled all of the “blue” experiences into a concept. He or she has synthesized the idea, the meaning, of blue.

Throughout Using Bloom’s Taxonomy, Strategic Thinking 1 and the strategic thinking articles that follow them, the people of the imaginary enterprise were constructing meaning — about the product that was discussed on the team blog AND about what people working together toward a common goal do.

They were constructing the definition of a knowledge enterprise.

That’s why I believe a team blog can transform an organization to a living, breathing knowledge enterprise. It is a natural outcome of the experience, if the experience is done within the context of Bloom’s Taxonomy.
