Blogging Immortality
View CommentsMark Wade of RWebdesigns.com wrote a compelling post about the immortality of blogging in a public forum. It’s simple, short, and powerful. It should be shared in every home, school, and enterprise. It’s a reminder that all of us who interact with the Internet can benefit from.
Also check out the advice that Mark mentions, on Blog Safety by Jonathan Ezor. and please share that too. The finer points are
1. Blogging lasts well into our future and can be read by people all over the world.
2. People have only what words are there to go by–bad grammar and all. Tone of voice can easily be misunderstood in print.
3. It’s easy to break copyright law and to find ourselves in trouble for doing that. Laws around the world are not the same, I might add.
4. It’s always a risk to share personal information. Even when we don’t, things aren’t as private as they feel in the room where our computers sit.
5. A blog owner is a publisher and can be held accountable for statements made by visitors in the comments. We need to pay attention to what commenters are saying and remove those that could be a problem.
Mark writes about blog safety in such a compelling fashion. Stop by read his post and share the information as much and as often as you can. I care that you’re safe when you’re on the Internet.
